Piano, Soprano Voice - Early Intermediate
Composed by Stuart Brown. 21st Century, Christian, Spiritual, Sacred. Score. 5 pages. Published by SB VisionMusic (S0.47859).

Item Number: S0.47859

The fifth of the five songs, based on poems by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, that comprise the "Idylls" song cycle, for solo soprano and piano. Intense shades of light and darkness, of "crossing the bar" from this life to the wonder and peace of meeting one's Pilot face to face. The composer uses the piano to evoke the lapping of waves on sand, the push and pull of the tide, the light of the setting sun on the water, the darkness of night and the peace of the eventual meeting, while the solo soprano sings a melody with Celtic overtones, evoking the composer's Cornish roots. Sublimely and calmly beautiful. Duration 2'58".
