    The pinnacle of the concert pianist's performance

    Written at his country estate in idyllic pastoral surrounds, Rachmaninov composed what is generally regarded as the topmost point of the pianistic art. It is strongly recommended that the Second Concerto be studied first, as this familiarises the student with the style of composition which is a characteristic feature of all four Concertos. The leitmotiv introduced in the first movement is artfully returned to in both the second and third movements. This is accompanied by several gorgeous figures which embellish the whole with an unearthly quality which only the great romantic master could produce. Its popularity revived by the film, Shine, the great Third (or Rach 3 as it is popularly known) rewards the diligent soloist with its rich, tonal magic and an end-product which is worth every hour spent at the keyboard perfecting this masterpiece.

    this piece is amazingly easy to play. I thought it would be hard but i can play this with one hand behind my back, while hopping on one foot.(FOR REAL MAN!!!!)I am 22 but have larger hands than rach himself and I am 6 13
