Oh, if I could express my love for Chausson in words, I would, but after playing and hearing this concerto, it is now impossible to do so. the feeling one gets after playing is that of triumph, and after hearing, a feeling of joy and exaltation. I have only performed...

the first violin part for the quartet, but I have played through the solo violin part. they are both difficult, but it takes a master to excel at the solo violin part. when thinking of multiple instrument concertos, many ignore this gem. they think only of the Brahms and the Beethoven, but take one listen to this, and their minds will forever be changed. Chausson is so unbelievably underrated, and take my word for it, if you buy this concerto, you will not be disappointed. It's so french! All I can say to put in words my love for Chausson is VIVA CHAUSSON!
