    I first played this piece in a trio of piano and 2 clarinets. The transposition to 2nd clarinet from basset horn is done quite well. The three parts are comparable in difficulty, making for an enjoyable ensemble piece. The piece itself is one of my favorites both to listen and...

    perform. In addition, the instruments chosen are easy for most clarinetists to get together unlike finding bassoon and oboe players.
