  • January 16, 2017 good for now

This book is a great price for what you get, however the book is smaller than most Dover editions and the music is printed dark and cramped together.

All the Preludes and Etudes I wanted and in ONE VOLUME!! Fantastic. I'm an old Schirmer fan, however, this book suits me equally - for reading and playing - the print clarity, font size, spacing on the page. Beautiful music with so many pieces to learn and others to brush up...

on. This book was a gift to myself and I'll enjoy it forever! onlybookschris

You dont need me to tell you that the music itself is five stars out of five. This edition, however, is annoying. The notes are too cramped together, making it hard to read. The page turns are in the wrong places. The book doesnt always consent to stay flat on...

a music desk. If you are on a budget, this is obviously a good choice as it contains a lot of music for the money you are paying. But if you want a quality edition to enjoy, go for something else.

  • August 08, 2005 Great...but

The preludes and the etudes are excellent.....however there IS a lack of fingering which I think is a big must have.

  • March 09, 2005 Great music, but just an average edition

Rachmaninoff's preules and etudes-tableaux are great, and something every serious pianist should venture into. That being said, this is not the best edition. The book is extremely small, which makes the music small. Sure, its cheap, complete, and readily available, but if you want the best edition, get...

    Boosey and Hawkes.
