  • April 26, 2017 so many mistakes in the viola part

I thought Peters would at least have the right notes and rhythms in the part but I was very disappointed. For example, there's a part where regular sixteenth notes are marked as triplets in the third movement. Even IMC has a much better edition of this piece.

  • December 22, 2014 Excellent edition for viola

If you are playing this on viola, this is an excellent edition. And by the way, this is NOT a classical era piece like it says in the description. It is late Romantic (it's late Brahms for that matter!). I also do not know what it is like to...

play these on clarinet, but for viola - have no illusions about it. These are extremely difficult. They are also as good as viola music gets. Just so ya know. Also - the piano part is quite a beast. Again - just so ya know.

  • January 14, 2013 Fantastic

Great copy of both sonatas. Clarinet/viola parts look fantastic and the piano score is clear and accurate. A very nice edition, one of the best.

Great music; no errors that I know of, nice looking, well arranged - I doubt if you could find a better edition. 6 stars.

  • February 14, 2011 NICE...

The Brahms Clarinet Sonatas are awesome. They are not that difficult at all, but rich with musical content. The first movement of the second sonata is absolutely gorgeous - one of my favorite pieces. That said, the edition is awesome. Beautiful clear print on nice brown-shaded paper, no flaws I...

have encountered, and a viola part just in case one of our string counterparts gets smart :-) Like I said...NICE!
