  • October 01, 2009 Great piece.

We sight read this in my wind ensemble class the other day. it was a very fun tune to play, and the 5/4 section of silent night was very unique. Personally, I thought it sound a bit weird because of the rhythm, but i think with a bit of...

rewriting, it could sound awesome. I play trombone and my favorite part of the whole song was the first gliss after "santa clause is coming to town" Very fun piece.

  • November 04, 2008 Overly complicated

I do not like scores that are written with the instruments in their own pitch & so I wrote a concert pitch score. The piece is overly complicated & I with hindsight I wouldn't have bought it had I done a little more research. It is a clever piece but for...

youngsters who have probably not heard all the carols it is a bit too clever without really grabbing the swing idea. The percussion part is the best but I would have preferred to develop fewer carols & let them come to a resolution. Still, I thought the 5/4 time Silent Night innovative & worth pursuing on its own.
