Although each study emphasizes an aspect of virtuoso piano technique, the etudes are some of the most effectively moving of all the concert works in piano literature.     this edition is great other than the pages. it is spiral bound and for people who use it for hours every day and turn the pages over and over again the pages start to rip out! the pieces are all beautiful but none of them are easy!!!

    Clear print and many suggestions. A well edited book like this i think is best for difficult pieces like these.( Alfred editions are always great especially for students!)

    This is a great edition of Chopin's 27 etudes. The engraving is clear and the book is comb-bound, so the pages always lie flat. The music itself is extremely challenging but very rewarding to play.

    This is a vast improvement on the internet printout I was using previously, with much better note spacing. However, on the Harp Etude (Op. 25, no. 1), there are several measures in which the bar of the sixteenth notes is on top of the bottom line on the staff, which...

    makes those measures extremely difficult to read (I had to write in the note names). I love the book's spiral binding, which makes it easy to play from. Why don't more publishers figure that out?
