This facsimile of an original by Ivan Evstafievitch Handochkine is part of our Dominantes collection. Chansons Russes variees pour Deux Violons. Oeuvre 2. Edition: Saint-Petersbourg, Gotha, Gerstenberg, 1796. Presentation by Pavel Serbin: introduction - tunes of the chansons - errors. Very pleasant works, for two unaccompanied violins, which make a valuable addition to the XVIIIth century repertoire. The preface gives the sources of the Russian songs on which the variations are based. Edition en parties separees: violino primo - violino secondo. (plusieurs chansons variees ne commencent pas dans la tonalite par laquelle elles se terminent). Collection supervised by the musicologist Jean Saint-Arroman, professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse of Paris and at the CEFEDEM Ile de France (Training Centre for Music Teachers). He is the author of the majority of our prefaces and has also been involved in library searches.
