The chamber choir I Vocalisti stands for contemporary vocal music at the highest level. This hasn't gone unnoticed by the great choir composers of our time, who have written several works specifically for the chamber choir. Like on their new recording "Cantate Domino Canticum Novum" that features pieces by Hugo Distler, Vytautas Miskinis, Josu Elberdin and Thomas Hofmann alongside new pieces that were written specifically for the choir. Among them works by the award-winning German composers Schanderl, Ostrzyga but also composers from Latvia, Serbia and Belgium. The pieces boast an exciting range of tonal colors and unusual turns off the beaten track. Singing these demanding pieces requires an excellent choir and an extra amount of love and passion for this wonderful music. The chamber choir I Vocalisti and their director Hans-Joachim Lustig draw from an abundance of these traits.
