These pieces are a comfortable length for students (about a half page of music) and are playable with as few as five instruments. All instruments are limited to a 6-note diatonic range.     online the piece sounds great...but that is because we are hearing a talented trained band. Having three beginner bands currently trying to learn this, I find that while the notes pose no issue (and the rhythm, once learned, is also easy enough) the maturity of sound, blend and balance...

    needed for this piece to pay homage to the original is actually very high...higher than a typical beginner band in the region I teach in.
