The All-Night Vigil is a monumental choral work requiring advanced musical skills for an adequate performance. This adaption features a unison melody line throughout, constructed from the fusion of melodic figures from Rachmaninoff’s a cappella original. To this newly constituted melodic line is added a completely original accompaniment created without any reference to Rachmaninoff’s score. The result is a distinctive representation of Rachmaninoff which can be easily learned and performed by a solo singer or unison choir, including children’s choirs, for whom this work was originally created.

Bogoróditse Dyévo, ráduisya,
Blagodátnaya Maríye, Gospód s tobóyu.
