Excellent book with great song selection; laid out with easy to read tabs. Very good explanations of material contained.

I was very disappointed, and I returned the book for a refund. Note that the 5-star reviewer said he purchased this book in 1981. All the music I own uses the New Style Tab which shows every note On The Tab Lines. "Blue Grass Banjo" used the original tab...

style that printed the notes Above The Lines (in the spaces), making this book useless for me. The publisher should reprint the book in the new style tab, and remove the old books from their shelves.

I purchased this book in 1981. It was My first Banjo Book and it was how I taught Myself to play. It teaches all of the standard finger rolls needed for Three finger Scruggs Style Bluegrass. It also has several recorded songs that go along with the Tabulature so anyone...

can learn to play the Banjo well. This book and CD (it used to be a record) really teaches almost everything you will ever use in any Bluegrass Banjo Music. I have recommended this book to many people over the years.
