An SSAA w/ divisi + solo voice contemporary a cappella arrangement of "Bluebird" by Sara Bareilles.  Released in 2010, this beautiful tune was the final track on Sara Bareilles's third album, "Kaleidoscope Heart."  In this arrangement, the lilting piano accompaniment is taken over by womens' voices and reharmonized in a way that enhances the mixed, melancholy lyric of the soloist.  This particular chart omits the second verse but transitions seamlessly into the final chorus.  Utilizing this cut, your ensemble can now feature this song which would normally run too long for your standard 12-minute competition set (like ICCA or ICHSA).  Requiring a strong ear, vocal independence, and an innate sense of blend, your singers (and your audience) will surely enjoy the colorful blanket that is weaved throughout the entirety of this piece's performance.  "Bluebird" is a great selection for an advancing treble high school or college ensemble.
