No proof exists that Turlough O’Carolan actually composed this tune, however since the 1800’s books have credited the song to him. It’s certain he did know the neighboring blind harper, M’aire Dhall. She was both a talented harper and harp teacher.

It is in the key of D. The melody is divided evenly between parts. Dynamics are clearly marked.
