    Difficulty Level:
  • April 30, 2009 Achieve a new level of playing!

There is only one thing that I have more of than guitars and that is guitar instructional material. I am self taught and I have found this book, and the video of the same name, the tools I needed to elevate my playing to the next level. The exercises are...

designed to give you the finger skills (right and left hand) that you will need to play the example tunes. The tunes in the book sound great, are fun to play and progress in difficulty as you go along. They have improved my playing an order of magnitude. Thank you Mark for this great instructional piece!

As a returning rhythm acoustic player (35+ year layoff), I found this book very helpful in adding some solo pieces to my repertoire. It did a very good job of introducing me to the various styles of fingerpicking and provides fun and usable short pieces that are easy to learn...

. The later pieces in the book are more complex and will require some study for even an advanced beginner. However, there is enough to learn and master throughout the book to keep you interested. I'm now looking for more instructional books and videos by this artist as I find his teaching approach very easy.
