I have been a fan of George, and playing guitar since 1985. I was thrilled to find this tab book about my favourite guitarist. The book has the usual selection of the songs George is known for, with a couple of 'newer' ones thrown in. All the biggies, including Mr...

Scary. As another reviewer stated, and I agree with, the songs are not transcribed how George plays them. The notes may be technically right, the place on the neck where they are notated to be played, is not right. The fingerings are not correct for Georges playing style. What I do is simply use the book to get the notes, then move it to where George would play it. So that is why I love it, but kinda wish I did not have to do that.

  • March 03, 2006 Disappointed

I was disappointed with the transcriptions in this book. While i loved the song selection its just not the way George plays these things. If you are familiar with his instructional video you can see right from his own hands that songs like Unchain the Night and Street Fightin' Man...

are just not transcribed in this book the way he plays it. While it can still sound similar, I found it much harder to play it the way the book says over the way he really played it in the video - And ive been playing for 17 years.

This music book rocks! The transcriptions are dead-on, and the songs are even hand picked by George Lynch himself! I picked up this book for Kiss of Death and Love Power (from his solo CD Sacred Groove), which by themselves are worth the price of the book. The other...

songs are a good pick too, including Tooth and Nail and It's Not Love. Be forwarned! Some of this stuff is quite advanced, but there are nice intermediate songs too, like Alone Again and Breaking the Chains. An awesome book from one of the best out there!
