I bought this for my 15 year old granddaughter. She's in the band in high school and is very competitive. She likes the book because it is more difficult than she is used to. She showed it to the band leader and they both like it.

One of today's premier instrumental soloists Chris Botti has a great sound and musicality that is an inspiration for all to elumlate. Seeing a transcription can be overpowering when you see all the little nuances and additions written out just exactly as he performed them on a CD. But...

it is also a lesson in imbellishment and improvisation of a popular or standard melody. It would be great if, like so many other of the publications that sheetmusicplus offers, they could work up an accompanying CD minus the solo part so you could play along with it. I'm sure with all the muli-tracking done on these recordings it could be worked out and worth a few extra dollars to the publication's price. An intermediate through advanced player would really enjoy and learn much from these transcriptions.
