This daring work tells the story of courageous Japanese soldiers, guided by a code of loyalty, bravery and honor. The mysterious opening moves quickly into an energetic battle, complete with explosive shouts and clashing swords. An optional advanced snare drum part is perfect for your skilled percussionist. Easy music that sounds advanced!
The country of Japan is located along Asia's eastern coast. Once isolated from the West, Japan is now a modern nation-state and economic superpower. Japan's warrior class, known as the samurai, emerged in the 12th century and endured for seven hundred years. They were private soldiers hired by wealthy landowners to protect property. Adorned in lacquered metal armor, their weapons included the dagger, bow, and sword. While history tells us how people lived, music communicates how they felt. Best wishes as you experience Battle of the Samurai. May your music take you to different times and distant places!
