I purchased this book for the sole purpose of to see how accurate it is. Accurate is not even the word, there are so many bass lines that are not even right i dont know where to begin. I even wrote the company about this, the book says its how...

metallica plays it note for note, when in fact notes are missing and notes are not even transcribed correctly. Notes are added which are not even the correct notes and not even being heard on the origional cd or live. I have been playing for 8 years and am well rounded on the bass, this is not the book to learn from. For a example of how its played, sure, but when they say note for note how metallica plays it, not a chance, its way off...if your looking to buy something note for note do not by this, its a waste of money and time to even learn, youll be learning the songs wrong. Maybe I should write a book that makes sence to everyone and has the correct notation and tablature! 0 out of 10 for me.

metallica's bass legendary licks is a book worthy of attention. explanations for the music and the background of the songs is given in full detail. a nice attractive of this series is that the more difficult sections come with a slowed down version on the CD, making practicing easier...

. however, a big bummer is the fact that only parts of songs are in this book. for nothing else matters, there are'n more than 20 measures given! overall, it's great for someone who is not quite sure if they like metallica.
