In my opinion, the description for this ebook makes extravagant claims about the content of the book. Also, the book gives the impression that it is a first draft. It is riddled with spelling mistakes. Chord names have been placed so high above the staff that they often merge with...

the text above them, making them difficult or impossible to read. The sequence of topics is puzzling, e.g. the section on 'keys' is placed after 'modulation'. There are places where I had to read the context of badly worded sentences a number of times to work out what the author is 'getting at'. Some statements made no sense to me, e.g. "The exception to this rule is the diminished chord which has no root." On the positive side, the book is inexpensive and there are relatively few pages to read because it mainly sticks to basics (as the title suggests). The book covers numerous topics (65) which are briefly described.
