The Cortot editions of Chopin are a must have for every serious pianist. In this work, he leaves very detailed comments on interpretation as well as practical advice on how to overcome the fiendish difficulties of the ballades. Since half of the page are footnotes, the sheet music are printed...

in smaller size. I would recommend getting another edition, such as Henle or any Urtext edition, as the main sheet and cross-reference it with this edition.
