Pachelbel’s “Hexachordum Apollinis” is, according to biographers, one of his most important works. Musically it’s everything you would expect from Pachelbel: Not too challenging playability, sweet harmonies and recognizable chord progressions typical of the south German composer. And the pricetag of this book by Bärenreiter is fairly...

reasonable, especially because this is a very important work. I recommend this book highly.

Despite the volume's title, all of the works included here work well (if not better) on the harpsichord as well as the organ. The collection Hexachordum Apollinis is especially fine music. Although some of the variations are challenging everything should be playable by an accomplished amateur. I highly recommend...

    this collection.

I don't think I could have been more impressed with this volume. For a long while I have sought the best of Pachelbel's other works and this is the cream of the crop of Pachelbel's oeuvre. I don't even have an organ at home, but I...

greatly enjoy playing the music inside. Personal favorites are Aria Prima, Ciacona in D, and Ciacona in C. Truly a testament to the simplistic, yet sophisticated genius and passion of this composer.
