Cantolopera is an exceptional series of book/CD packs from Ricordi that offers a fresh approach to great opera repertoire. The books include versions for voice and piano of the world's most famous arias. The CDs feature two versions of each aria: one with a 130-piece orchestra providing accompaniments to allow the professional, student or opera fan to practice, and another sung by an established artist for reference. Each volume contains the lyrics of the arias, plus a short plot summary and background information on the orchestra and the performers.

I love this book! As a private voice teacher, I have very much enjoyed this collection with my more advanced students. The orchestral accompaniment is wonderful & fun to sing with, and the demonstrations are fantastic. I also like the English translations of the lyrics & the plot synopsis of each aria...

. Very helpful, very beautiful resource for opera lovers!

I loved this material, it's easy to use and the accompaniement (playback) is just as beautiful as the one in the original song. The songbook has trancripts and translation of the lyrics! A must have for any classical singing student.
