Composed by Antonio Vivaldi. Arranged by Jonathan Cohen. Baroque,Instructional,Wedding. Score and parts. 12 pages. Ravine Music Publishing #2017291. Published by Ravine Music Publishing (A0.987156).

Grade 3 - One of Vivaldi's most hauntingly beautiful slow movements is arranged here for string orchestra. The gorgeous lilting mandolin melodies are played in succession by the violins and the violas with cellos. A short section of the melody is given to solo violin for a chance to highlight your concertmaster's expressiveness and lyricism. The original key of E minor was lowered to D minor to allow the violins to play entirely in 1st position and to make the melodies lie better for the other instruments. A perfect choice for a slow baroque piece with great expressive possibilities.
