    I heard the auditon of the winner of 2nd chair in S.C. all-state band in 1975 playing this piece. Though very competent it lacked a general appeal to the judges. I played Vivaldi and won 1st place. I had sympathy on the Barat man because his selection didn...

    't sound like a trombone piece. It has been some time ago, but he sounded like the bass violin or a cello in characteristics difficult for me to describe, though he performed the piece very well. Just a thought. Bravo to #2.
