  • May 29, 2008 Catelinet and Capuzzi give the tuba a new piece

Philip Catelinet's masterful adaptation of Antonio Cappuzi's [1755-1818] Concerto for Double Bass gives tuba players a wonderful opportuniy to play music from the Classic Period.[parts are included for Bb euphonium/tuba, T.C. and Eb tuba, T.C. The andante gives the performer a chance to...

show thier melodic skills, while the rondo is a great challenge for thier technique. Since the tuba and double bass are similar in range, this piece works well for the tuba. It would be a great recital piece.

I really enjoyed it. It helped improve my technique and ultimatly helped me be able to play scales better. Would have liked it better if it had a bigger range.

This piece is a good piece for entering college freshman or transfer students. Good tonguing is a must. Overall is a fun and relatively easy piece. I found no trouble playing this piece.
