Jazz Big Band - Medium Difficult
By Frank Sinatra. Edited by Jon Harpin. Arranged by Nelson Riddle. Swing. Full score and parts. Published by Lush Life (JL.LL-2329).

Item Number: JL.LL-2329

Here is our transcription and adaptation of Nelson Riddle's chart done for Sinatra's "Strangers in the Night" album. Sinatra often referred to this song as his first hit - a reference to his time with the Harry James band - and he continued to sing it right up to his retirement in 1995. This arrangement has been adapted slightly from the Riddle chart: the string lines have been removed and scored into the band, making this chart playable with a standard 5444 line-up. Both altos double clarinet and the fourth trombone is a bass. The piano part can be played on keyboards using an electric piano / Fender Rhodes patch. The vocal key is Am (C) modulating to Ab for the bridge.

Instrumentation: Vocal, 2 Alto Saxophones (Both Double Clarinet), 2 Tenor Saxophones, Baritone Saxophone, 4 Trumpets, 3 Trombones, Bass Trombone, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums.
