Sung in English, the paraphrased text of the "Agnus Dei" is set to ancient West African chant of absolution. A bass/baritone/alto soloist leads the choir. With a haunting call & response between alternating quartets and chorus the piece closes with a wailing chant. Some choirs have found to great effect to spread out their singers into the audience/congregation during the closing section. Optional accompaniment parts for congas and bass guitar/double bass are also available from the publisher, AM Publishers.
