time, but we recently tried it at it's recommended pace and it quickly got everyone pumped. I can tell many people only have to hear this once to tell that they like it. I enjoy Doug Spata's work as he gives sections like violas and 3rd violins a significant part in the piece. Violas are usually more valuable as beat-keepers but I do like to have a greater role in the melody sometimes and Doug Spata does a good job at making that chance for me.

It was really fun to play this piece. I am in an intermediate high school orchestra and play the viola. I was nicely surprised to see that the violas had important parts. Usually, since the violas have the middle sound, we get parts that are kind of boring like long...

held notes, or upbeats (which are very annoying and hard). We had a version of the melody a few times and were playing almost the whole time. I really enjoyed it also because of the time signature. I really like pieces in asymmetrical time signatures. It took our orchestra a while to get the feel of the piece, but once we got it we really liked it. I gave it four stars, not five, because I really liked the piece, but it is not one of my favorite pieces to listen to.
