    Difficulty Level:
  • May 08, 2019 Challenging and fun

Great arrangement of a popular, upbeat song. The video of Amy Turk's performance is very helpful. The key is not the best, since it requires mostly sharps, though that's not much of an issue on a pedal harp. Transposing to the key of G makes it playable on...

lever harp. Counting is a challenge, doubling the meter to use eighth notes instead of sixteenths makes it much easier. The percussion makes it difficult but rewarding, and adds to the character of the piece. Great fun, tough but worth the work, and true to the style of "Africa". I've been playing for 20 years, teaching since 2003. This piece is challenging but playable for me, and good for a fairly advanced high school or college student.
