  • May 26, 2005 Impressive score, yet very challenging

An amazing score, simply brilliantly written by Samuel Barber. His use of such a simple reoccuring motif has molded to create one of the most haunting pieces ever written for sting orchestra. Although I recommend this score to all, be forewarned the pitches go very high up especially in the...

cello part (mid-range bass clef up to high treble clef). A great piece of music... simply stunning and beautiful.

It is essential to have this score. This work has very deep feelings, very romantic, full of lyricism. Perhaps Albinoni's Adagio in Romantic style? I don't know...Of which I am safe is that where there is to listen to it it is in Granada (south of Spain...

)and at night with an String Orchestra. Impressively beautiful. Impressive, beautiful, sad at the same time... Without words to describe it.
