Piano/Keyboard - Mid-Intermediate
Mid-Intermediate Level. Composed by William L. Gillock. Willis. 24 pages. Willis Music #9447. Published by Willis Music (HL.415797).

9x12 inches.

Accent on the Black Keys is a wonderful collection of 10 Gillock originals such as Valse Gaie, On the Champs Elysees, and Hommage to Chopin. It also functions as a theory workbook that will ensure a better understanding of the five major and five minor keys that begin on a black key. The pieces are prefaced with the scale, the chords and cadences in the key, and the student is also required to write in the key signature of each piece.

Accent on Black Keys concludes the Accent series with ten pieces in the major and minor keys that have black home tones. The pieces are in imitative classical styles, about level 5 in difficulty. The musical value of the pieces is recital quality in every way.
