In the words of the great Duke Ellington, "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing." That song title is just one of the tasty morsels in this orchestral salute to the world of jazz. The medley just plain cooks when these other classics are added to the mix: The Swingin' Shepherd Blues, Round Midnight, Take Five, Li'l Darlin', C Jam Blues, and Cute! Cool, man! (5:45).

  • Take Five  Composed by Paul Desmond
  • 'round Midnight  Composed by Thelonious Monk,Bernard D. Hanighen,Cootie Williams

  • Cute (Vocal)  Composed by Neal Hefti;Lyrics by Stanley Styne
  • Li'l Darlin'  Composed by Neal Hefti
  • Swingin' Shepherd Blues  Additional credits Rhoda Roberts,Kenny Jacobson,Moe Koffman

I played this music in my high school orchestra and it was a joke. I would not call it jazz at all, as i am in a real jazz band. It was a very boring piece of music for all the brass, especially trombones
