"A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri arranged for Guitar and voice is a lovely song to learn and perform. The key is in G major. You are getting the full score, Guitar and Tab part and vocal part under one purchase which is really reasonable. All in all this music will give you more than what you need to perform this solo or as an ensemble. The Vocal line also encompasses some additional notation as suggestions for additional instrumentation such as woodwind or strings.

The guitar part is mainly a plucking pattern in which the right-hand fingering is indicated. It breaks from the pattern to encompass some melody notes in the instrumental sections and again fingering is indicated.

The bracketed small notes in the verse denote the variation sung in the melody line in the third verse. The small notes are used in the instrumental section simply to differentiate from the sung melody.

I am Barry McCormick, I have an MA in music from the University of Glasgow. I am a musician, composer and arranger from Scotland. I have over 20 years experience in teaching music at a classroom and private tuition level and have taught students from early years to more mature in years.
