The pedal and lever harp duet versions are not the same, although they can perform in an ensemble together. They differ in the pedal/lever markings, harmony notes and which harp is playing the melody note. The dynamics and Waltz sections are clearly marked. The score includes a page of performance information.
The Harp Ensemble would perform for 2 hours each evening as guests arrived at the UW-Eau Claire’s annual Viennese Ball in the student center (1998-2016). The invitation was extended because Eduard Strauss, the youngest Strauss, was a harpist. He conducted his own orchestra from his harp and toured the United States.
