    Difficulty Level:
  • January 24, 2009 Wonderful Addition!

I rated the difficulty as intermediate not necessarily on the basis of ease of play, but for the level of skill required for making the pieces sound as they are intended. It is truly an incredibly fun addition to my Christmas repertoire and indeed my favorite performance book for the...

    holidays... fabulous!

    Difficulty Level:
  • January 15, 2009 Easy, yet can really make an impact!

My ensemble group of advanced teenage girls played these songs for several Christmas gatherings. They were quite easy, so none of us had to practice much; however, with vibrato and some improvising, the pieces really took on an original flair. Lots of tunes you won't recognize, but plenty you...

will, and the history of the song to boot. That makes it nice to fill in your Christmas program. Perfect for Christmas teas/dinners and background music.

  • December 31, 2008 fiddling chords added

Any of the Craig Duncan books are excellent purchases. For "A Fiddling Christmas", tunes are pretty straight and easy but are chorded for both violin and piano parts. This is especially nice for the violinist to ad lib for embellishment and double-noting. The collection is like a cross between...

a fake book and sheet music.

  • November 04, 2008 Review for A Fiddling Christmas

I bought this for my daughter who plays the violin and son to play piano with her. We have been very happy with it. As far the fiddling we don't do fiddle so I'm not sure about that, but for the violin it is great!
