The attacks in Brussels on 22 March 2016 created a shockwave throughout Belgium and the rest of the world. Equally, the attacks in Paris and Nice led to great public indignation, fear and disbelief. Bert Appermont's intention was to voice certainemotions that these acts of terror have caused: particularly fear, grief, anger, and helplessness. He uses the French children's song Au Clair de la Lune as a connecting thread throughout the work.
De aanslagen in Brussel op 22 maart 2016 joegen een schokgolf door Belgie en de rest van de wereld. Evenzo leidden de aanslagen in Parijs en Nice tot grote publieke verontwaardiging, angst en onbegrip. Bert Appermont wilde uitdrukking geven aanbepaalde emoties die deze gruweldaden teweeg hebben gebracht, zoals angst, verdriet, woede en onmacht. Hij gebruikte het Franse kinderlied 'Au claire de la lune' als rode draad. Het werk bestaat uit vier doorgecomponeerde delen: Innocence,In Cold Blood, In Memoriam We Shall Rise Again en A New Day.
Die Anschlage in Brussel vom Marz 2016 erschutterten die Welt und losten Emporung, Angst und Fassungslosigkeit aus - eine Gefuhlslage, die derzeit immer neue Nahrung findet. Indem er im gesamten Werk das franzosische Kinderlied "Au clair de la lune"als verbindendes Element verwendet, gelingt es Bert Appermont virtuos, nicht nur diese dunklen Gefuhle, sondern gleichzeitig auch die Hoffnung und das Vertrauen in eine andere Welt musikalisch nachzuzeichnen. Ein grossartiges WettbewerbsundKonzertwerk.
Les attaques du 22 mars 2016 Bruxelles ont secoue la Belgique et le reste du monde. De meme que les attaques Paris et Nice, elles ont suscite l'indignation, l'angoisse et l'incomprehension publiques. Qu'est-il arrive au monde occidental ? Noscultures se sont-elles tellement eloignees que nous ne nous entendons plus ? Bert Appermont s'est mis exprimer les emotions ressenties suite ces actes de terrorisme, tel que la peur, le deuil, la colere et l'impuissance.

Allo stesso modo, gli attacchi di Parigi e Nizza hanno portato tra l'opinione pubblica indignazione, paura e incredulit . Bert Appermont ha voluto darevoce alle emozioni che questi atti terroristici hanno provocato: in particolare la paura, il dolore, la rabbia e l'impotenza.
