In the old days, the Irish belief was filled with little people, shamrocks and celtic magic. The foggy weather enhanced fantasy and fear. Thus music played for Irish a big role. With merry sounds of a fiddle or drum (tabor), they drove away the bad sprits and bad mood. With music they found comfort and sometimes hope in a land at a time when things were very hard.

This music, although easy, was well written. Each of the string players has the melody as the the parts weave together. It allows beginners to accomplish a beautiful piece of music, well.
