I bought this for my daughter. She is 9 and intent on playing piano for our parish. I would suggest some other beginner books to start with. She will move up to this one when she masters the beginner level. Great selection of songs.

Most songs I was familiar with, and I was able to sight read them with ease, and they're easy enough for me to teach my younger sibligs how to play.
