Faithful Text
Actually, contrary to the former review, this edition is very faithful to the tradition of conducting from the keyboard in which the player had liberty to embellish and fill out the parts. In this style, the original script was a skeleton suggestion, and it was up to the keyboardist/conductor to fill in the blanks. This version simply fills in the blanks for you. If it makes the piece too difficult, then, of course, stick to the bare-bones Henle. Otherwise, enjoy this more sophisticated and full-bodied edition. For my taste, I would rather perform something that does not sound like any competent ten-year-old play.
