In Psalm 116:16, the psalmist speaks of himself as a servant, (indeed the son of a servant); yet he is freed from bondage. Two interpretations seem plausible: 1} God freed Israel from bondage in Egypt and Israel's service to God is to be given throughout all generations. 2) Service to God is liberating, allowing us to break the psychological chains that we fashion for ourselves. It is the latter interpretation that is emphasized in the English translation employed in this setting. The original Hebrew text is also provided along with a pronunciation guide for the Hebrew.
