About Hal Leonard Bass Builders

Bass Builders is a series of technique book/audio packages created for the purposeful building and development of your chops. Each volume is written by an expert in that particular technique. And with the inclusion of audio - either CD or cassette - the added dimension of hearing exactly how to play particular grooves and techniques makes this truly like a private lesson.

I found this book difficult to use because I am not familiar with the style and techiniques of the funk bass (like muting, slapping, etc.). That doesn't mean the book is horrible though, it does give you plenty of examples to practice and ideas for inspiration for your own...

grooves. I would only get this book if you've been familiar with the style.
