NOCTURNE (Secret Garden) - FLUTE and GUITAR DUETFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes "This haunting piece (originally for voice, violin, piano and full orchestra) fits nicely onto flute and guitar, making a concert item that is accessible to intermediate players. It will provide a reflective and calm piece that the audience are sure to enjoy - its strangely familiar motif is both calm and reassuring in its flow.The flute is in Gm - a change of key from the original, but moving the piece into the flute’s warmer and more mellow register. The Guitar requires a Capo on fret 3, resulting in arpeggios that are instantly familiar. There are a few barrés but these should not prove to be tiring or liable to buzz. The guitar part is written so that open E means play the open E string but with a Capo on 3, so it’s indicating what to play, not the pitch that sounds.I have added a few dynamics to mimic the flow of the original, but feel free to add or alter to make the performance "yours".I hope you enjoy this piece!"
