Korean Simple Suite No.1 (For Violin and Piano) Violin Solo - Digital Sheet Music
This "Korean Simple Suite" is consist of 5 movements. 1.Prologue-Greeting 2.Oriental Flute 3.Cheerfulness 4.Sorrow 5.Finale-Festival. All piece's main theme is generally based on Oriental pentatonic tone, And for 2nd movement, there is especially natural harmonics is used for special tone effect, to express oriental flute sound. and for 3rd movement, adapted Korean Traditional rhythm, for example, such as "Kutkuri" "Jajinmori". 4th movement is Major key, but has deep sorrow. For Finale, Rondo form is used, and Korean Traditional Children's song is adapted as main Theme. It had its world premiere on June 1, 2019 at the Seoul Arts Center (IBK Chamber Hall) by Professors KyungSun Lee(violin), and HeeSeung Joo(piano). In HyeonSeon Jo's doctoral thesis (Arizona State University, May 2025), the structure, harmony, and performance technique of this piece are studied in detail, as well as various interpretations from the performer's perspective. Additionally, This music transcribed for Cello and Piano was a Competition Repertorie Requirement of Tennessee Cello Workshop(2021.2.26.-28), University of Tennessee, School of Music. In Particular, this music was cited and studied in a doctoral dissertation at Arizona State University in the United States.
