The color of the 13th chord is one that I am drawn to like a yellow-jacket to a first-grader’s faceas he is trying to enjoy his ice cream cone, chocolate & vanilla twist with rainbow sprinkles, dripping down his chin and forearms just outside the horribly smelly bear cage at the zoo on a stifling hot and humid day in 1972.
The harmony of a 6th added to a 7th chord (or even the 6th by itself, which implies, in my mind, the 13th!) gives me the sensation of dancing ona tumescent cloud, gravid with H2O, preparing to fall in a downward enfilade ruining his ice cream and his day; but, unbeknownst to him, saving him from the anthophilan threat.
