  • January 03, 2021 violin part looks cluttered

The violin part is full of fingerings and bowings; I was hoping it wouldn't be, I prefer to put in my own. I can ignore a few marks, but this has fingerings and alternate fingerings both above and below the staff, some in parentheses, some not, and ditto for...

bowings. Overall it's visually cluttered, enough that I won't use it myself and wouldn't give it to a student either. A plus: ornamented versions of the adagios are printed on a separate insert, so anyone interested in seeing them for reference but not playing them won't have them in their way. A bare-bones cello part is included; it has no fingerings or bowings, and also does not have figured bass markings. Score has the original continuo line with figured bass markings printed normally, RH realization printed with in sized notes. I'll probably keep the score but will look for another edition for a violin part.
