  • April 15, 2012 Great Introduction to Fingerstyle

I liked this book because it gave me a great introduction to fingerstyle guitar. The pieces are well-arranged for the beginner and easy to follow. I have really enjoyed this book due to its variety of musical styles and its inclusion of good-sounding songs. I would recommend this...

to any beginner wishing to get started in fingerstyle guitar playing.

I really wish I had found this book a few years ago when I was just getting back into guitar and learing fingerstyle. It is chock-full of different styles including gospel/hymns. Even though they are easy to play, they are nice-sounding arrangements. Perfect music to entertain someone...

at a rest home, or just for hanging out on your porch on a warm afternoon. I could have done without the CD, but I'm sure it is helpful for those who are not proficient music readers. Playing from this book is lots of fun!

  • August 05, 2009 This is definitely for beginners

This is a good book to develop finger picking skills. I wouldn't buy it if you just want to learn the songs. The songs are too simple to entertain a listener in my opinion. I've been playing about 5 years and bought this book to learn a new...

style. While the songs in this book sound "elementary" they will help you to learn simple concepts of picking. It was helpful having a cd, too as I've never heard most of these songs.

Good choice of music, style and level of difficulty. You have to work hard to get songs to sound smooth. Once you accomplish it, you will see a quantum leap in your playing ability.
