Chavez's Ten Preludes

I wanted to count with more solo works from the 20th century so I bought Schirmer's All Time Favorite Piano Pieces from the Modern Repertoire months ago, and one of the pieces that come in this solos collection is the second of these Chavez preludes. It was this vivid 2/4 meter Vivace prelude that made me purchase his Ten Preludes he composed in 1937 to explore more of his pianism. I find a common monotony that links these pieces to each other but slightly varied in character reflecting a more conventional nature of the piano.

These 10 Preludes

I wanted to count with more solo works from the 20th century so I bought Schirmer's All Time Favorite Piano Pieces from the Modern Repertoire months ago, and one of the pieces that come in this solos collection is the second of these Chavez preludes. It was this short 2/4 meter Vivace prelude that made me purchase his Ten Preludes he composed in 1937 to explore more of his pianism. I find a common monotony that links these pieces to each other but slightly varied in character reflecting a more conventional nature of the piano.
