From Caracas, Venezuela, Glenn Michael Egner is The Principal Orchestra Librarian of the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra for 25 years now. And was the Principal flute of the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra for more than 30 years. He began early flute studies in Daytona Beach, Florida with the prominent English flautist Geoffrey Gilbert. A graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, Mr. Egner has studied with such distinguished flautists as: John Wummer, Jean Pierre Rampal. Arthur Lora and Frances Blaisdell. Along with his performing, Glenn Michael has been instrumental in forming the school of flute playing in Venezuela. He is one of the founding professors of the Systems Youth Orchestras of Venezuela since 1975. Glenn Michael has been editing and transcribing many flute pieces, both of the standard flute repertoire and of many latin american and venezuelan pieces, both for orchestra and flute and piano, etc etc., making them much more reader-friendly !
